【摘要】:p>RefertoPracticeE261forageneraldiscussionofthedeterminationofdecayrates,reactionrates,andneutronfluencerateswiththresholddetectors(1-29).RefertoPracticeE1006,PracticeE185andGuideE1018fortheuseandapplicationofresultsobtainedbythistestmethod.(34-36)Thehalf-lifeof93mNbis5730x00B1;220days(30)andhasaKX-rayemissionprobabilityof0.1099x00B1;0.0025perdecay(30).TheKx03B1;andKx03B2;X-raysofniobiumareat16.5213x2013;16.152and18.618x2013;18.953keV,respectively.Therecommended93Nb(n,nx2032;)93mNbcrosssectioncomesfromtheIRDF-90crosssectioncompendium(31),wasdrawnfromtheRRDF-98crosssectionevaluations(37)andisshowninFig.1.Chemicaldissolutionoftheirradiatedniobiumtoproduceverylowmass-per-unitareasourcesisaneffectivewaytoobtainconsistentresults.Thedirectcountingoffoilsorwirescanproducesatisfactoryresultsprovidedappropriatemethodsandinterpretationsareemployed.Itispossibletouseliquidscintillationmethodstomeasuretheniobiumactivityprovidedtheradioactivematerialcanbekeptuniformlyinsolutionandappropriatecorrectionscanbemadeforinterferingactivities.Themeasuredreactionratescanbeusedtocorrelateneutronexposures,providecomparisonwithcalculatedreactionrates,anddetermineneutronfluences.Reactionratescanbedeterminedwithgreateraccuracythanfluenceratesbecauseofthecurrentuncertaintyinthecrosssectionversusenergyshape.The93Nb(n,nx2032;)93mNbreactionhasthedesirablepropertiesofmonitoringneutronexposuresrelatedtoneutrondamageofnuclearfacilitystructuralcomponents.Ithasanenergyresponserangecorrespondingtothedamagefunctionofsteelandhasahalf-lifesufficientlylongtoallowitsuseinverylongexposures(uptoabout40years).Monitoringlongexposuresisusefulindeterminingthelong-termintegrityofnuclearfacilitycomponents.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesproceduresformeasuringreactionratesbytheactivationreaction93Nb(n,nx2032;)93mNb.1.2Thisactivationreactionisusefulformonitoringneutronswithenergiesaboveapproximately0.5MeVandforirradiationtimesuptoabout30years.1.3Withsuitabletechniques,fast-neutronreactionratesforneutronswithenergydistributionsimilartofissionneutronscanbedeterminedinfast-neutronfluencesaboveabout1016cmx2212;2.Inthepresenceofhighthermal-neutronfluencerates(>1012cmx2212;2x00B7;sx2212;1),thetransmutationof93mNbduetoneutroncaptureshouldbeinvestigated.Inthepresenceofhigh-energyneutronspectrasuchasareassociatedwithfusionandspallationsources,thetransmutationof93mNbbyreactionssuchas(n,2n)mayoccurandshouldbeinvestigated.1.4Proceduresforotherfast-neutronmonitorsarereferencedinPracticeE261.1.5Fast-neutronfluenceratescanbedetermined......
